At Mudgeeraba Early Childhood Centre we believe that children learn through play.

Creating a loving and happy atmosphere for your child

At Mudgeeraba Early Childhood Centre we implement a quality curriculum for all children, based on the Early Years Learning Framework. The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is a National Curriculum Framework for children in educational settings from birth to 8 years of age.

The framework describes the principles, practices and outcomes essential to support and enhance young children’s learning, as well as their transition to school.

The EYLF has a strong emphasis on play-based learning and the importance of children’s individual strengths and interests.

We believe an early childhood curriculum includes all the interactions, experiences, activities, routines and events planned and unplanned that occur in an environment designed to foster children’s learning and development.

Nursery Room

Welcome to the Nursery Room. Our goal is to provide a safe, comfortable and nurturing environment for your child.

We programme for each child’s needs by observing the child, noting their actions and abilities, their strengths and what challenges they are ready to accomplish.

The activities we plan are developmentally appropriate and goals are set for each child to achieve.

We welcome any parental input, so please feel free to communicate with us about your child.

Kindy Room

Welcome to the Kindy Room. We strive to provide safe and nurturing care for your child so they can learn by playing and develop in a warm, caring environment.

Our program is developed by observing the children during play or with the help of parental input. We then build on the child’s interests and needs in an age developmental way to build on the child’s learning. We explore through art, music, story time, cooking, senses and gross-motor outdoor activities.

A focus for the Kindy room is around toilet training. During this time the educators work closely with families in a joint effort looking for windows of opportunities in readiness. Parental input is always welcome to help in developing the children’s individual goals, while we enjoy this journey together.

Preschool Room

In Preschool, our aim is to provide a safe and nurturing environment which meets your child’s needs and helps them to reach their fullest potential. We have a strong focus on early literacy and numeracy skills, which are developed through a fun, hands on program.

We use techniques of intentional teaching methods and incidental learning to ensure each child’s strengths and interests are extended on.

This way the children can be partners in their own learning. There is also a strong focus on social skills and developing a sense of wellbeing, which is valuable not only for school, but for life.

In the Preschool Room our curriculum is based on the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and implemented by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher and an Assisting Educator. We are a government-approved kindergarten.

Goals of the Kindergarten Curriculum:

•The children will be supported to develop through the learning and development areas of Identity, Connectedness, Wellbeing, Active Learning, Communicating

•Using these Learning and Development goals to guide our curriculum will allow us to support your child as they continue to grow and develop.

•To support the children in their strengths and interests

•For children to develop a love of learning and ability to direct their own learning

•To prepare each child for Prep.
